The IMX178M monochrome sensor offers a high resolution, the camera is very well suited for moon and sun, well suited for planets, and of course ideal as a powerful autoguider for astrophotography.

Sony 1/1.8" CMOS monochrome sensor IMX178 with 6.2 megapixel resolution

Sensor size 7.4 x 5 mm - diagonal 8.92 mm

Very high resolution due to 2.4 µm pixels

High sensitivity due to 81 % QE

USB3.0 interface

Practical 1.25" body, you can insert the camera into the telescope or off-axis guider like an eyepiece

At only 70 grams, the camera weighs no more than a 1.25" eyepiece

Almost 60 frames per second, therefore very good to use for EAA

Protective AR glass is built in, the camera also allows infrared photography

Extensive scope of delivery, such as USB and ST4 cable, C-mount adapter, 1.25" extension tube

ToupTek TS178 mini monochrome astro camera and autoguider

The camera is equipped with a large 1/1.8" sensor. The new SONY STARVIS and Exmor-R technology produces very low-noise images with high sensitivity. Added to this is a very high resolution thanks to particularly small pixels. The result is a very versatile camera that delivers excellent results for a wide range of requirements. Among other things, the camera is well suited for:

Moon and planetary photography, due to the small pixels you only need a moderate or often no Barlow lens at all

Solar photography with a suitable filter - approx. 500 mm focal length, for example from the TLAPO804, show the sun (or moon) completely

EAA (Electronically Assisted Astronomy) of these objects by a suitable frame rate

Autoguiding - a guide star is always found

Deep-sky photography, the high sensitivity of the sensor allows nebulae and galaxies to be photographed with short exposure times

The practical 1.25" body:
The camera is supplied in a compact 1.25" housing. This makes it easy to connect to the telescope. The camera is inserted into the focuser like an eyepiece and focused. You can start astrophotography immediately. In addition, the housing is equipped with a female C-mount thread on the telescope side. This allows you to screw the camera to the telescope or a camera lens.
