With the Guidemount, Telescope Service has created a versatile mounting rail for mobile astrophotography. The Guidemount fits in all mounts with Vixen-level quick coupling, such as:

Areas of application for the guide mount attachment:

The guide mount is mainly intended for astrophotography with compact telescopes or telephoto lenses. The side viewfinder mount can accommodate either a viewfinder for aiming at the object or a mini guide scope for finder guiding.

DSLR camera with camera lens and viewfinder for wide-field shots: Certainly a common area of ​​application. A small viewfinder for aiming for shots without tracking control or a small guide scope is placed in the viewfinder shoe when autoguiding is used. When a camera is attached, the GP prism clamp can be removed.

Astrophotography with compact telescopes and autoguiding: Compact APOs such as the Photoline60 or the ImagingStar 65 mm and 71 mm are ideal for mobile astrophotography. Attach the APO to the GP-level prism clamp on one side and guide it with a compact guide tube that you attach to the finder shoe. This type of combination is already supported by the Skywatcher EQ3 mount - it is an astrophotography combination suitable for air travel.

Multifunctional rail for photo tripods: In combination with the optional TS Optics prism clamp, the guide mount becomes a multifunctional mount for photo tripods. Simply screw the prism clamp onto the ball head or tilt head of the photo tripod and then insert the guide mount prism rail. A viewfinder is now attached to one side and the DSLR or video camera to the other. You can then observe the subject with the viewfinder and as soon as the situation is right, simply press the shutter button. The laborious looking through the camera viewfinder is no longer necessary.
