ZWO AM3 Equatorial Mount with Harmonic Drive Gears
ZWO offers the Harmonic Equatorial Mount AM3N, a portable mount for astrophotography. The mount weighs less than 4 kg and supports telescopes up to 8 kg without a counterweight. With a counterweight and the counterweight rod (not included), the mount can even support telescopes up to 13 kg. Several years of development and various patents have gone into this exciting mount. The periodic error is less than 15 arcseconds.

Many functions and easy operation
The AM3N can be operated in equatorial and azimuthal modes. Equatorial/equatorial mode is used for astrophotography. The mount must be aligned as precisely as possible to the celestial pole. For visual observation or lunar and planetary imaging, azimuthal mode is sufficient. The mount is then ready for use in just a few minutes. The status indicator always indicates which mode the mount is in: red indicates equatorial and green indicates azimuthal mode.

Counterweights no longer required
German mounts usually require counterweights to balance the telescope's weight. This is the only way to ensure proper function. The AM3N uses an industry-standard wave gear. Therefore, it does not require counterweights for telescopes up to 8 kg. This makes the AM3N lighter, more compact, and easier to operate. We only recommend counterweights for heavier telescopes to keep the mount and tripod balanced. Counterweight rod connection thread: M12 x 1.75

Smooth tracking is guaranteed
ZWO tests and measures every AM3N mount before delivery and guarantees a periodic error (PE) of less than +/-15 arcseconds. This periodic error occurs very slowly, allowing the autoguider sufficient time to correct itself. The mount is equipped with an ST-4 autoguiding interface. The PE can also be reduced electronically using ASIAir or other software.

Can be used anywhere on earth
As you would expect from a true travel mount, the AM3 can be used anywhere on earth, from the equator to the poles. The mount fits in any airline luggage.

No more cables thanks to WiFi
All mount functions can be controlled via smartphone. The AM3N works particularly well with ZWO's ASIAir. With the ASIAIR, everything from the camera and autoguiding to the mount can be controlled via an app on a smartphone or tablet. The mount can also be operated with the handheld controller without a smartphone. The handheld controller is also wireless.

N is for New:

Improved cable management: Like the AM5N, the AM3N now features additional power connections and a USB Type-C port directly on the mount saddle.
The azimuth adjustment knob now features a tool-friendly opening for a hex wrench, allowing the mount to be adjusted with less effort.
The Allen key holder is now magnetic, ensuring the tool stays securely in place.
Slight weight increase: Due to structural improvements, the weight has increased from 3.9 kg to 4.1 kg.
Updated power consumption: To improve load stability, the current consumption has been adjusted as follows: 1. Tracking mode: 12 V / 0.7 A 2. Goto mode: 12 V / 1.3 A (up to 1.8 A under heavy load)
Wider operating temperature range: The operating temperature range has been expanded to -20 °C to 40 °C, enabling better performance in cold environments.

The AM3 can support a maximum payload of up to 8 kg without an additional counterweight. With a counterweight (5 kg), the load capacity is up to 13 kg. The optional counterweight must not exceed 5 kg in weight and should be attached with a counterweight rod no longer than 20 cm.
