Baader 2" ClickLock® Clamp to M42i T2 (T-2)
- Baader 2" ClickLock T-2 (M42i x 0.75) Clamp – compatible with all components of the T-2 system (featuring an M42x0.75 external thread).
Insertion depth: 30.1 mm; T-2 thread length: 6.5 mm.
Includes removable S52/M48 (#2958552) and M48/T-2 (#2958553) reducer rings, making the clamp highly versatile in its application.
A mere 20° rotation—achieved by applying pressure to the lever—is sufficient to secure all 2" accessories absolutely firmly and safely. Height: 36.5 mm; Weight: 143 g.
Ratchet function – provides both audible and tactile feedback regarding the clamping position. This allows you to determine whether the clamp is open or closed, even in the dark and without looking.
Compression clamping ring made of thick-walled hard bronze; it retains its structural integrity even after years of use and holds even the most expensive accessories absolutely securely, without causing scratches or pressure marks.
The Baader ClickLock® System (1¼" / 2") – An Overview
Never before has an eyepiece holder for amateur astronomy been manufactured with such meticulous craftsmanship.
Heaviest tested load: a complete C14 with an attached SCL 2" ClickLock clamp and a 2" ClickLock diagonal, fitted with a Scopos 30mm Extreme eyepiece. Warning: not recommended for imitation!
The Baader ClickLock (1¼" / 2") is a precision-fit, exceptionally robust eyepiece clamp—without any thumbscrews (!). Inserted eyepieces, CCD cameras, and similar accessories are held securely against rotation, yet remain completely free of scratches! With just a small 20° turn, any eyepiece is locked in place with rock-solid stability.
You will never want to clamp (or focus) your eyepieces and webcams any other way again!
Our ClickLock clamps consist of seven precision-milled components that form a highly effective retention mechanism, securely holding any 1¼" or 2" eyepiece. The clamp is complex and labor-intensive to assemble during manufacturing; consequently, the price may initially seem high for a clamping device. However, when you consider its precision, ease of use, and stability, it is more than worth the investment.
You do not need to tighten our ClickLock clamps "until your fingers bleed," as the underlying mechanical principle is derived from professional mechanical engineering—specifically, the same mechanism used for tool holders in modern CNC milling centers. Through the clever application of leverage, the clamping force is multiplied manifold. The inserted accessory is gripped on three sides—much like in a quick-release chuck—thereby completely eliminating any possibility of tilting or wobbling. Details on the 2" ClickLock System
Example of a Conversion from a Standard 2" Clamp to a 2" ClickLock Clamp
The performance and stability of the ClickLock mechanism have been tested over many years using the 1¼" ClickLock clamp.
Mechanically, the 2" ClickLock system is designed to be significantly more robust.
A mere 20° rotation—achieved with light pressure on the lever—is sufficient to secure all 2" accessories absolutely safely and firmly.
The heaviest load tested to date consisted of a complete C14 telescope fitted with a screwed-on SCL clamp, a 2" ClickLock diagonal mirror, and a Scopos 30mm Extreme eyepiece. During this test, the entire C14 was lifted by the eyepiece assembly. We expressly point out that this test setup is not recommended for imitation.

Robust Compression Ring—crafted from thick-walled, hard bronze, this ring retains its shape even after years of use and holds even the most expensive accessories absolutely securely, without causing scratches or pressure marks.
Adjustable Lever Position—the position of the lever can be adjusted using either six slotted camera screws or six hex-socket screws (requiring a hex key), allowing the CL clamps to be optionally configured for use by both left- and right-handed individuals.
CL Clamps—available for a wide range of telescope systems. Our extensive assortment of clamps makes it possible to retrofit the Baader 2" ClickLock clamping system onto many different telescopes.

With the 2" ClickLock clamp, you can—among other things—also upgrade your 2" Maxbright diagonal mirror (or 2" Universal Prism) to the ClickLock system. Simply unscrew the old 2" clamp and screw on the new 2" ClickLock clamp.
