T2 often narrows the picture dramatically. The free opening at T2 is only about 38mm, this adapter gives you 47mm free opening. In addition, the adapter has the shortest possible length, only the length of the T2 ring itself, which is permanently connected to the 2" tube, is optically effective.

Even a camera with full-frame sensors will no longer show shadowing, which would be normal with adaptations via T2.
