Baader RCC Newton Coma Corrector - triplet lens - long distance

Baader RCC 1 Newtonian Coma Corrector is perfect for Newtonian telescopes from f/3 to f/6 with long backfocus.

The RCC 1 (David Rowe Coma Correktor) is a new corrector for Newtonian telescopes with notably long working distance. Standard coma correctors only offer 55 mm from their T2 threads - just and only enough for a T2 ring and a SLR camera.

♦ Very long working distance and space for e.g. off-axis guiders and filters

♦ Best coatings possible on all glass/air surfaces for high transmission

♦ T2 and M48 connection on the camera side for a variety of options

♦ Works with f/3 to f/6 Newtonians with good results

♦ The RCC 1 can be countersunk in the focuser due to its removable ring

♦ The illuminated field of view is about 20 mm in diameter. Sensors up to about 24 mm can be used with a correction by a flat.

The RCC 1 (David Rowe Coma Corrector) is a new corrector for Newtonian telescopes with notably long working distance. Standard coma correctors only offer 55 mm from their T2 threads - just and only enough for a T2 ring and a SLR camera.

The RCC 1 offers, due to its triplet lens design, 91.5 mm from its T2 thread or even 94.5 mm from the M48 thread. The knurled ring can be taken off and the corrector therefore be countersunk in a 2" focuser.

The optical performance of the RCC is very similar to a Wynne coma corrector. The corrector also works with very fast Newtonians and gives a good illumination.

Use with a DSLR and TSOAG27 Off Axis Guider:

You need:
♦ RCC1 coma corrector: 94.5 mm space from the M48 Thread
♦ M48Abstimmring2 - 1.5 mm thickness
♦ TSVF205 - 5 mm thickness
♦ TSOAG27 - Off-Axis-Guider - 33 mm thickness
♦ Than you have exactly 55 mm distance from the T2 thread of the off-axis guider to the sensor.

Not each Newtonian telescope can work with the RCC 1:

The RCC 1 has a long working distance - more than 90 mm. So you can use DSLR camera, off-axis guider and much more. But this only makes sense, if your Newtonian also offers enough backfocus.

So if you use a DSLR camera with T2 ring (55 mm) and an off-aAxis guider with 30 mm, but your Newtonian only has a backfocus 70 mm from the 2" connection, it is very simple to see that the system will not work - you will not reach the focus.
