Smart power and dew protection control 4X

When fighting Tau, you should rely on intelligence instead of pure power. The Smart Power and Dew Protection Control 4x extends your battery life by optimizing power consumption for up to four heating elements. The controller collects and analyzes information in real time to warm your optics just enough to prevent them from fogging up.

The 4x control has four connections for controlling four heating elements at the same time. You can use one port to heat the telescope while the other port heats a second telescope, finder, guide scope, eyepiece or other accessory.

The controller has four 12V DC outputs to power a variety of 12V DC devices such as: B. your mount, your focus motor and your camera. One of the ports has a variable voltage that you can adjust from 3V to 12V. In addition, the controller has three USB ports.

The control works seamlessly with the dew protection heating rings for 5", 6", 8", 9.25", 11" and 14" (various versions / variants available), which have a built-in thermistor (temperature sensor) that monitors the temperature of your Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD or RASA measures. Third-party heating tapes or belts are also compatible; All you need is the (sold separately).

At the heart of the controller is a powerful microprocessor that collects information from the sensors, calculates the data and automatically adjusts your heating elements. The control unit monitors the ambient temperature and humidity using the integrated environmental sensor and monitors the temperatures of the heating elements using temperature probes.

You can operate the power and dew protection control 4 times as an independent accessory. If you want to view the controller's data and make manual settings, you can connect it to your Celestron telescope's hand controller or your PC. The control works with NexStar+ or StarSense handheld controllers running the latest firmware, or with the Celestron CPWI telescope control software, which is included with every Celestron mount.
Performance

The smart power and dew protection control 4x is operated with a 12V DC battery (for example with the PowerTank Pro LiFePo4 12V DC / USB 5V / 158.74 Wh (#821042, € 369,-)) and can have a maximum output of 240W ( 20A max current at 12V DC). The controller also features four 12V DC outputs, allowing you to power your entire setup from a single source. The additional ports allow you to power devices such as your mount, focus motor and camera(s). One of the power ports offers a variable voltage, adjustable from 3 to 12V. This connector is ideal for accessories that require less than 12V DC, such as: B. a DSLR camera.

Once the devices are connected, you can control the power to each individual device using the hand control or the CPWI software. You can turn off the connected devices without disconnecting them from the controller. All devices are protected by resettable electronic fuses if current draw becomes too high.

NOTE: When using multiple heaters and external 12V power supplies during heavy condensation conditions, the capacity of a PowerTank Lithium Pro will not be sufficient to operate the system throughout the night; You will then need a battery with a larger capacity or several batteries.

USB 3.2 hub

The integrated USB 3.2 hub connects three USB devices to your computer with just one cable, making cable management much easier. There are three USB Type-A ports, and each port is powered. Just like the 12V DC ports, you can turn any USB port on and off via CPWI or a Celestron hand controller.
Unique industrial design

The smart power and dew protection control 4x is housed in a robust metal housing. Inside, a fan protects the electronics of the control unit.

On the top of the controller is the sensor and control unit, which houses the device's status LEDs and environmental sensors. It also helps with cable management. Celestron has placed the temperature and humidity sensors here, away from the control unit and other components that could generate heat. Unlike competing products, these sensors do not require any additional cables to obtain accurate readings.

The LED lights on the control unit show the current status of the device. The LEDs alert you when the controller is using more power than your power source can provide or when the battery needs to be recharged. You can dim the LEDs when you are under dark sky.

The Smart Power and Dew Protection Controller 4x is attached to your CGE (Vixen Style) or CG-5 dovetail with the integrated dovetail clamps. If you prefer to attach the controller to your tripod leg, use the included strap.

We recommend combining this current and dew protection control with the Celestron (dew protection heating rings for 5", 6", 8", 9.25", 11" and 14" (different versions/variants available)). They fit seamlessly onto your Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD or RASA and protect it from dew all year round. For optimal dew prevention, we also recommend using a dew cap. While a dew cap is not required, it will reduce the amount of power the controller must supply to the heating elements to keep your optics clear.
