Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25" EdgeHD with StarSense (C925)
9.25” EdgeHD optics for excellent visual and photographic results, without coma and field curvature
Built-in lithium iron phosphate battery with enough power for a ten-hour night of observation
Built-in WiFi – no hand control required! Instead, use your smartphone or tablet to connect to the telescope via WiFi
StarSense AutoAlign takes care of the alignment and works together with the SkyPortal app
Fastar/Hyperstar compatible: With f/2, very short exposure times are sufficient for deep sky photography - this often saves you the need for a polar height cradle or autoguider!
Computer-controlled GoTo mount with high-performance brass worm gear motors for improved tracking accuracy and reduced gear backlash
With manual clamps, integrated carrying handles, illuminated accessory tray and a USB charging port
Included accessories: 25mm Plössl (1.25"), Omni 2x Barlow (1.25"), a 1.25" moon filter, StarPointer Pro™ finder scope, StarSense AutoAlign and a 2" diagonal mirror with a 1.25" adapter
The innovative NexStar Evolution is a compact, portable and mechanically solid telescope. This set adds the StarSense AutoAlign module to the Evo mount and takes over the alignment procedure for you: The built-in camera orients itself in the sky and initiates the telescope for computer control and automatic tracking. The 9.25” EdgeHD tube delivers a flat, bright image of the sky.
You don't have to do anything while the telescope automatically orients itself in the sky within a few minutes! With the additional options, the NexStar Evolution 9.25" HD Set is an extremely powerful, user-friendly and quick-to-use combination.
Compared to purchasing it individually, you save a lot of money compared to the normal NexStar Evo 9.25. Compare yourself:
EdgeHD tube instead of Schmidt-Cassegrain: The EdgeHD telescopes not only offer photographers the advantage of a leveled image field, but also have an improved focusing mechanism, ventilation openings with fine dust screens for faster temperature compensation and, above all, the Schmidt plate is prepared for Hyperstar - like this you can transform the optics into an ultra-fast astrograph with 400mm/f2.
2x Barlow lens, doubles the focal length for visual observations or planetary photography
1.25" moon filter
StarSense module - The telescope automatically orients itself to the starry sky, you just have to set it up and switch it on.
StarPointer Pro instead of StarPointer – With target circles and brighter, dimmable LED, also suitable for daytime observations.
PERFECT WIFI CONTROL VIA TABLET OR SMARTPHONE
The planetarium program on your smartphone shows you the current view of the sky or a list of observation targets for your location. The SkyPortal app for iOS and Android also supports automatic initialization of computer control (the "alignment") via the StarSense module.
EASY AND CONVENIENT OPERATION
Customer feedback from recent years was incorporated into the development of the NexStar Evolution telescopes. They offer many thoughtful details so that you can enjoy the most beautiful night possible under the stars.
No more worrying about batteries or an external power supply. The NexStar Evolution is the first amateur telescope to have a built-in lithium iron phosphate battery. One charge lasts up to ten hours. You can even use the Evolution's USB port to power other devices you want to use at night.
The NexStar Evolution is easy to set up thanks to the large, ergonomic handles. The azimuth and elevation clamps allow you to align the telescope to a target even without power. Up to seven eyepieces can be stored in two storage compartments - one even has dimmable red LED lighting.
MORE POWER AND SAFETY THROUGH LITHIUM IRON PHOSPHATE BATTERY
Instead of a typical lithium polymer battery, the Evolution telescopes use a lithium iron phosphate battery. These LiFePO4 batteries have some advantages over simple LiPo batteries:
High safety: Unlike LiPo batteries, LiFePO4 batteries cannot explode or ignite, but are considered intrinsically safe.
Due to the better power density, a high load capacity is ensured even when current is drawn continuously.
Long service life and cycle stability.
Wide temperature range for storage and operation
Low self-discharge
PERFECT FOR VISUAL OBSERVATIONS OR GETTING STARTED IN ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
This telescope is ready for use in just a few minutes and, with its large aperture, shows even many faint objects beautifully.
It also allows you to get started with astrophotography: it is the only forked telescope in its price range that features a brass worm gear and improved motors that provide high tracking accuracy. Capture images of the moon and planets by connecting any planetary camera. You can even experiment with capturing brighter deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula with your DSLR camera, or stacking short exposure shots from a CMOS astro camera!
If you later want to focus your hobby on astrophotography, you can convert the mount into an equatorial mount with the polar altitude cradle NexStar Evo/SE (#820953, ¤ 519) and use long exposure times for more detailed astrophotos.
The NexStar Evolution mount also has a built-in lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery that provides enough energy for 10 hours of astrophotography.
Of course, the EdgeHD optical system with StarBright XLT™ coating provides bright, sharp images - a good choice for visual observers and aspiring astrophotographers alike. The Hyperstar system can also be used on this telescope to turn the telescope into a short focal length astrograph with f/2!
NexStar Evolution is equipped with 4 additional ports - two on the top of the fork and two on the bottom. A StarSense hand controller is included but is not needed when using NexStar Evolution with the app.
INCLUDED SOFTWARE
Celestron PWI Telescope Controller: Your ultimate astronomy software
All current Celestron computer-controlled telescopes include Celestron PWI (CPWI). Celestron experts developed this powerful astronomy software together with engineers at PlaneWave Instruments. The result is an all-in-one solution that gives you many of the same features found in PlaneWave's observatory-class telescopes.
The graphical planetarium interface with PointXP allows you to add more than 100 points to your sky model that the software can use to orientate itself to achieve the most accurate alignment and tracking of the mount.
Ideal for remote operation: save and load your alignment and park your telescope
Provides a complete ASCOM telescope interface, allowing control of the telescope via third-party software applications
Further information about CPWI and a download option can be found at https://www.celestron.de/cpwi
Starry Night Software
The scope of delivery also includes a free download of the Starry Night planetarium program in a Celestron Special Edition. This advanced software from Simulation Curriculum provides detailed information about celestial objects and will help you plan your next observing night or astrophotography session. The Special Edition software also includes control of the telescope via your PC. For more information please click here.
