Products description
1.25"UHC S Filter (# 245 8275)
The UHC filter from Baader enables the observation and also the photography of faint nebulae also from the proximity of cities. The unwanted scattered light caused by the nocturnal illumination is filtered out and the light from the fog objects is transmitted almost unhindered.
The Baader UHC filter is fine-optically polished for highest image quality.
Applications:
The UHC S filter from Baader can be used effectively on almost all devices. Good results can be achieved especially with devices of smaller aperture, because the filter is a bit broadband. Astrophotography is also very possible with the filter. Unlike most fog filters, the Baader UHC does not color the picture that much. A picture example can be found under "Testimonials".
The transmission curve:
The transmission curve shows that where artificial stray light is generated, there is almost no transmission. Also the UV light is blocked.
However, the following lines are let through almost unhindered:
H-Beta line (486nm)
Horsehead fog, California fog, ...
O-III line (501nm)
Planetary nebulae, such as dumbbell mist, ring nebula, ...
H-Alpha line (656nm)
Gas fog, such as North America fog, ...
This fog filter produces a brighter and more contrasty image than most conventional fog filters.
The filter is dielectrically tempered and therefore resistant to aging. He is also very robust and scratch-resistant. In addition, highest imaging quality is guaranteed by plano-optically polished surfaces.
