The telescope optics:

The exciting Skywatcher Maksutov Newton Telescope is exactly what astrophotographers and serious visual observers have been looking for. The Maksutov Newton reflecting telescope design combines the best features of Newtonian reflectors and Maksutov Cassegrain telescopes. This optical design impresses with impressive image quality and offers high-contrast, perfectly flat images, free of colors.

The Maksutov Newton Telescope design offers wide aperture apochromatic performance, with exceptional field correction, in a compact tube at an amazingly affordable price. Stars appear like pinpricks across the entire area. Perfectly optimized for modern DSLR cameras. Five apertures inserted into the tube eliminate annoying internal reflections and improve contrast.

Compared to similar Schmidt Newtons with the same or larger apertures, the Skywatcher Maksutov Newton telescope achieves significantly sharper and higher-contrast images. Photographic, as well as visual.

 
The mount:

The new, computer-controlled EQ6-R PRO Synscan™ telescope mount is the impressive, evolutionary development of a legend that is the EQ6 PRO. The modern, optimized design of the EQ6-R PRO includes new features that will immediately impress experienced astrophotographers:
 

    Increased payload of 20 kg for astrophotography
    Belt drive for minimal backlash - particularly quiet and smooth operation and better results when guiding, as well as higher drive torque
    Improved pole height adjustment with larger adjustment range (5° to 65°)
    Built-in "SNAP" camera control port
    PPEC worm gear and periodic worm error correction function (makes constant retraining of the drive unnecessary)
    Integrated carrying handle for convenient transport
     

The included computer-controlled Synscan™ hand control allows the telescope to be aimed at a specific object and offers tours of the current night sky with just the push of a button. The user-friendly menu system allows the automatic tracking of over 42,000 astronomical objects in the night sky with its extensive database.
