Since this system provides complete correction and illumination for CCD and DSLR cameras, no coma corrector is required.


The specially calculated Maksutov Newton telescope from Skywatcher has a very good correction over the entire image field. His image ranges close to that of an apochromatic refractor - and at a fraction of the price that a refractor of this size would cost. The Skywatcher Maksutov Newton is therefore an ideal device for photography. The sumptuously sized secondary mirror ensures good illumination in digital SLR and CCD cameras, even with larger chips. A center mark on each main and secondary mirrors facilitate the adjustment.

Optimal field correction due to the meniscus lens:

Due to the meniscus lens placed in front, an optimal correction on the optical axis and in the image field has been achieved. Furthermore, the tube is thereby closed at the front, as in a refractor. Therefore, the system is less susceptible to air turbulence than open tubes.

The catch mirror, of course adjustable, is attached to the meniscus lens. Fang mirror struts and the resulting diffraction phenomena (eg the "spikes" of stars) are thus eliminated. The image definition is thereby higher.

Focusing takes place via a robust 2 "Crayford pullout. Also suitable for heavy equipment without tipping, it enables exact focusing.

The Maksutov Newton is a true all-rounder:

The very good sharpness over the entire image field and the good optical performance on the optical axis make the Mak Newton an excellent device for astrophotography. Shorter exposure times due to the higher light intensity offer an important advantage over most apochromats.
At 1000mm focal length, you get a very good magnification that also makes star clusters, galaxies or planetary nebulae worthwhile targets.

In visual observation, the Mak Newton convinces with a sharpness performance that "usual" Newtonian telescopes do not have. Needle-thin stars, even with long-focal 2 "eyepieces, will convince you as well as fine structures on the moon and planets.
