How we adjust: About us

Celestron telescope AstroMaster 102AZ

Bright lens telescopes with a large field of view are becoming increasingly popular. Observation is a real pleasure with this large, powerful 4 "telescope. It collects 63% more light than the widely used 80 mm telescopes, and the optics of the very fast f / 6 lens telescope provide bright images.
The specialty of this lens telescope are large fields of view. With the 25mm eyepiece, it provides a 1.7 degree field of view, which corresponds to more than three times the full moon diameter. This makes the AstroMaster 102 ideal for observing large areas of the sky or nature. This way you always have an overview: Open clusters in particular appear much more aesthetically pleasing at low magnification, because then you can still see the environment in which they are embedded. Extensive gas nebulae and many galaxies benefit from the large field of view. A parade object are, of course, bright comets that simply blow up the field of vision of many other telescopes.

The use of an optionally available fringe killer filter is recommended for planetary observation; if you mainly want to observe planets, you should still use one of the Maksutow telescopes. The lens telescope is a deep sky specialist.

The AstroMaster 102 is not only a wonderful astronomical telescope, but can also be used as a spotting scope for nature observation.

The azimuthal mount is ideal for nature observations, but thanks to the long handle, you can also precisely adjust the telescope at high magnifications for sky observation - almost as if you were swinging binoculars. Thanks to the Amici prism, which delivers upright, right-sided images, this also works very intuitively. And best of all: the telescope is ready for use in a matter of minutes - the mount and tripod form a single unit, so you only have to set up the tripod and fix the telescope in the prism rail with a clamping screw. The eyepiece rest plate is simply snapped into the tripod. Then all you have to do is opt for an eyepiece and you're ready to go. Dismantling is just as quick.

The AstroMaster telescopes

If you are looking for a versatile telescope for both sky and earth observation, then the AstroMaster series is the right choice for you. The Amici prism that comes with the lens telescopes delivers upright, right-sided images with every eyepiece.

An AstroMaster not only offers breathtaking views of the moon, of Saturn with its ring, Jupiter with its bands and moons, of nebulae and star clusters. You can also observe the sun's activity with an optional sun filter. If you are less interested in the members of the solar system and more interested in the brighter deep sky objects such as the galaxies and nebulae, we recommend one of the Newtonian reflectors with a larger light-collecting aperture.
