Celestron C9.25 SC XLT - 235 / 2350mm optical tube OTA

The C-9,25 is more than just an intermediate between the C-8 and the C-11. The device offers a higher contrast and better field sharpness than comparable Schmidt Cassegrains. This makes the C-9,25 especially suitable for observing the moon and planets. Celestron has designed the C-9.25 extra for star friends who, on the one hand, do not want to miss opening, but on the other hand want to have sharpness and contrast close to a Maksutov.
This is a result of a complete recalculation of the optics. The C-9 is about as long as the C-11. Nevertheless, the aperture ratio is 1:10. Main and secondary mirrors do not have such an extreme aperture ratio and thus somewhat weaker radii than in other Schmidt Cassegrains. With the same manufacturing accuracy, the quality of the image in focus becomes better. Of course, every C-9,25 is hand-rubbed.

The optics of the C-9,25 guarantee highest observation enjoyment in the deep sky range. Especially the optimization of a high contrast and a high sharpness counteracts the observer also in the observation of faint fog, star clusters and galaxies.

Moon and planetary observation become a great pleasure with this device. The C 9.25 actually bridges the gap between the very expensive Maksutov Cassegrains and the other Schmidt Cassegrains. The longer construction and thus the relaxed radii of the individual optical elements bring a higher contrast. The C-9,25 is the planetary specialist among the Schmidt Cassegrains.

Even astrophotography is easily possible with the C 9.25. For the photography of the moon and planets, the same advantages apply as for observation. But you have enough focussing way to work with strong systems for reducing the focal length and so also to be able to record fog and galaxies with moderate exposure times.

XLT coating: Thanks to this multilayer anti-reflection coating, the Celestron lenses have a particularly high light transmission. In the particularly important wavelength range around 500nm up to 10% more light is brought into the eyepiece. Especially here, the human eye is also very sensitive.



Advantages of the Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain system:
