Telescope Service offers you a complete set, consisting of a high-resolution guide scope with a large (80 mm) aperture and a powerful autoguiding camera, for long exposures with your telescope. This complete solution is easy to install and enables active tracking control, also known as autoguiding. We recommend the set for guiding telescopes with an opening of up to 16".

Connecting to your telescope is incredibly easy. The tracking set fits directly into a double mount, parallel mount or dual mount. The main instrument is attached parallel to the guiding telescope. For medium and larger telescopes, parallel mounting via a double mounting is more stable than mounting on the telescope.

The guide tube rings can be connected to the prism rail PSFotodel, which is currently included, without a connecting rod and viewfinder base, which saves weight. This is how it works:
 Unscrew the rings from the connecting rod and save the two screws.
 Insert one of the two screws from the hollow side through the elongated hole in the prism rail, hold one of the rings with a hole above it and screw the screw slightly into this hole.
 Now press the ring onto the elongated hole, whereby the edge of the ring must be a little (approx. 5 mm) away from the outer end of the elongated hole. Then tighten the screw. Of course, the ring must be positioned across the slot, as before on the connecting rod, otherwise you won't be able to get the tube through both rings at the same time.
 Do the same for the second screw and ring.
 The screws protrude slightly into the rings, but that is usually not a problem. If so, place washers that match the screws between the screw head and the prism rail.
 There is a brass photo screw in the elongated hole, which can be unscrewed at one end of the elongated hole.
 Now you have a low and easy connection to Vixen standard prism clamps.

It sounds complicated because of the detailed description, but it is very simple.

Connecting the autoguider to the guide scope The focus of the guider is between 9mm and 19mm behind the 1.25" connection. The sensor would therefore be too far inside. We simply recommend a good 1.25" adapter that is connected to the T2 thread is screwed. Suitable adapters are linked. The camera can then be easily mounted without any focus problems.

The included ASI120MINI comes with a 1.25" extension. This can also be used to focus well. The extension should be turned out completely. However, you should not push the camera in all the way.

Before the first tracking use, please install the camera driver and any autoguider software on your Windows computer or laptop. The autoguider software is not included. The camera is suitable for, among others, PHD Guiding, Guidedog, Metaguide, Guidemaster (freeware) or AstroArt, MaxIm DL (chargeable).


A tip: With ASIAIR, the ASI120Mini and your smartphone become a fine autoguider that also works without a computer, with higher sensitivity and resolution than the previous "stand-alone" autoguiders... for really little money - just do the math and compare.
 
Step by step to perfect autoguiding:
 Attach the tracking set to the main tube using the prism clamp or a double fastening (see accessory recommendations).
 Connect the tracking camera to the mount. Use your mount's ST-4 autoguider socket.
 Connect the tracking camera to your Windows computer.
 Focus the camera with the focuser - and you can start astrophotography.

The ZWO ASI120MM mini astro camera is more than just an autoguider.
The camera can also be used to take photos of the moon and planets and even brighter deep sky objects. You can simply attach the camera to your telescope like a 1.25" eyepiece, focus and get started straight away.
