The NEQ3 equatorial mount is not only a good base for observation, it also provides a solid foundation for astrophotography. With the appropriate accessories, long exposures are also possible with the mount. This allows you to successfully capture images of nebulae and galaxies.

In the basic configuration we offer here, the EQ3 is a well-dimensioned base for compact to medium-sized telescopes. The mount is ready for successful observation of astronomical objects.

Differences between the NEQ3 and the standard EQ3:

Aside from the color, the most important difference is the quick-release coupling. The NEQ3 offers the same quick-release coupling as the EQ5 mount – GP-level. We also offer dovetail bars for mounting accessories under "recommended accessories."

Load capacity:

The EQ3 supports Newtonian telescopes with an aperture of up to 150mm and refractor telescopes with an aperture of up to 100mm, and with a shorter design, even up to 120mm. It can support devices weighing up to approximately 5kg.

Astrophotography with the EQ3:

A mount intended for photography, especially for imaging nebulae and galaxies, must meet a few requirements:

-- Fine adjustment of polar altitude and azimuth for very precise alignment of the mount
-- A mounting option for the polar finder scope - an effective way to quickly and accurately align the mount
... You save yourself time-consuming alignment
-- The option to retrofit a 2-axis control system - this is important because corrections are necessary for longer exposure times. However, you must not touch the mount during the exposure - so the adjustment must be motorized.
