This adapter has proven very important in many areas of astronomy. The extension sleeve is simply screwed into the M48 filter thread of 2" eyepieces or 2" adapters and extends the insertion sleeve. This can improve the fit of an adapter.

These sleeves are also important in astrophotography when it comes to the correct distance between the corrector and the camera sensor. A few millimeters are often crucial.
