TS 2.5" rack and pinion focuser for telescope DIY and telescope upgrades
This focuser is superior to conventional Crayford focusers because the bearings and adjustment are decoupled from each other. This allows for sensitive adjustment, even at maximum load, when properly mounted.

The rack-and-pinion adjustment:
A conventional Crayford focuser works with contact pressure. The lighter the pressure, the smoother the extension, although there is always a risk of slippage because adjustment and bearing are combined. This focuser is completely different:

The drawtube is fixedly mounted via the plain bearing. The bearing is optimized to ensure maximum rigidity. The adjustment of the drawtube is achieved via a helical gear rack. The advantage is absolutely smooth adjustment.

The clamping of the drawtube position is also optimized. There is no clamping screw simply pressing on the drawtube; instead, the position of the adjustment is fixed. This ensures 100% focus.

Easy adaptation to your telescope via the M90x1 connection thread:
The focuser has an M90x1 female thread on the telescope side. Additionally, you can rotate the entire focuser 360° to always maintain a comfortable focusing position. We are also happy to manufacture custom adapters for your telescope. Please note, however, that the free opening on the focuser side of your telescope must be at least 74 mm. This is the diameter of the drawtube with the rack and pinion.
