Hello Mr. Kloß,
The first clear nights have just arrived in Dresden, and so far I can only report positive things. I have a 10" Newtonian telescope weighing about 17.5 kg with a 1 meter focal length. The tracking system is mounted on a Berlebach planetary telescope with an EQ8 plate. It tracks smoothly, and everything works as expected. As always, good balance and precise alignment are important. I use plate solving with NINA for alignment.
The connection with EQmod also works without problems. I had set a dec backlash compensation in EQmod from my old tracking system, which initially led to oscillations during dec guiding with the new one, but I quickly found that. PHD reports little to no backlash when measuring. I had never seen that before and it's very positive.
The USB hub is practical and works. However, I'm still missing the right cables, and in my opinion, it's better suited for fixed installations. If you disassemble and assemble daily, like I do, you'll end up with even more cables than before. Alternatively, if you're not yet sure how to lay cables to avoid problems, it can also be helpful.
I only do photography, not observation.
I definitely recommend it, having about seven years of experience in astrophotography. I think it offers good value for money for the stated payload. For me, the main reason for choosing this mount was actually the payload relative to its weight (less than the EQ6) and the price.
Best regards,
Sven H.
