The main advantages of the EQ8:

Encoders in both axes ... move the mount through the powerful stepper motors or disconnect the axles and adjust the mount manually. The computer will not lose its orientation thanks to the encoders, which decrease the adjustment on both axes. The mount also has a HOME POSITION, which is automatically approached. It is good for remote observatories.

Powerful stepper motors ... the stepper motors are not only quieter than servomotors, they are also very powerful. So you can really load the mount with the maximum. The motors transmit the movement directly to the worm axis, so transmission errors are significantly reduced.

Proven GoTo control ... The EQ8 comes with the proven Skywatcher SynScan control, which is already installed in thousands of mounts and ensures trouble-free operation.

P.E.C. - electronic reduction of the periodic screw error ... those who work without autoguiding will welcome the electronic reduction of the screw error to a few arcseconds. Of course, the controller also has autoguiding connection. If you use an autoguider, you no longer need the PEC.
