Adapter for lunar and planetary photography with your 1.25" eyepieces
With the variable projection adapter you can easily and effectively take beautiful photos of the moon and planets. You can use your own 1.25" eyepieces.

Here's how it's done:
Simply insert your 1.25" eyepiece into the adapter and secure it with the knurled screw.
Now insert the adapter into the extension of your telescope
Screw your camera onto the T2 thread using a T2 ring (T2 rings are optional) and you're ready to go
The further you pull the adapter apart, the greater the magnification becomes

We recommend eyepieces with a focal length between 9 mm and 15 mm for eyepiece projection. Shorter focal lengths result in too much magnification and the image becomes too dark. Longer focal lengths have a weak magnification effect.

Orthoscopic and Plössl eyepieces are particularly suitable for eyepiece projection. These eyepieces produce good images, do not cause color errors and also offer good field sharpness.

Two adapters in one - if you want to do focal photography:

No eyepiece is used in focal photography. The camera (without lens, of course) is attached directly to the telescope using the T2 ring. The telescope is converted into a telephoto lens.

Simply unscrew the 1.25" socket from the adapter and screw the T2 ring onto the socket. Then insert the combination into the focuser, attach your camera and you're ready to go.

Attention, various telescopes (e.g. small Newtonian telescopes) are not suitable for this type of photography. They don't come into the sharpness range, but eyepiece projection works.

Telescope side: 1.25" socket with filter thread Camera side: T2 thread (M42x0.75) Recording: accepts 1.25" eyepieces up to a housing diameter of 35 mm
