ZWO 2" UV and IR blocking filter and luminance filter cut
This 2" ZWO filter blocks UV and infrared light.
♦ The filter is a good addition for ASI cameras that are sensitive in the infrared.
♦ The filter improves the sharpness of moon and planetary photography through telescopes where lenses are in the beam path (e.g. refractor telescopes, Schmidt-Cassegrains or reflecting telescopes with a corrector).
♦ The filter is suitable for luminance recordings.
♦ The filter is housed in a 2" (M48x0.75) metal housing.
♦ Low profile filter holder with only 5 mm height without external thread - suitable for all filter drawers
ZWO 2" UV and infrared blocking filter
The filter blocks out ultraviolet and infrared light. This improves the imaging on many telescopes.
Chips from webcams or CCD cameras are sensitive to UV and IR light. However, lenses are not well corrected in these areas because neither the human eye nor conventional film is sensitive in this area. Without an IR/UV blocking filter, the contrast of the image would suffer. As soon as there is glass somewhere in the system (lens, correction plate, eyepiece, Barlow ...), the IR/UV cut filter on cameras with an AR window will improve the photographic result.
The filter is used for luminance images and for moon and planetary images.
