Products description

IDAS NBZ-II 10nm narrow band nebula filter O-III, H-Alpha, 2" mounted

The NBZ-II from IDAS is a dual-band nebula filter with O-III and H-alpha transmission - thanks to an improved arrangement of the transmission curves, the filter works with lenses and telescopes with f/2 and weaker light.

♦ 2" filter mounted with M48x0.75 thread connection - low-profile filter holder

♦ Suitable for monochrome and color cameras

♦ Can be used with all telescopes with f/1.9 and weaker light

♦ The filter is very suitable for recording diffuse and planetary nebulae.

♦ Transmission 10 nm in H-alpha, 8 nm in O-III

♦ The artificial sky brightening (scattered light) is practically completely blocked.

♦ High-quality anti-reflective coating thanks to an anti-reflective layer - no halo problem around bright stars.

♦ Scratch-resistant hard coating

♦ 2.0mm thickness

♦ The infrared light is blocked

♦ Individually measured after production, measurement report is included

♦ IDAS filters are produced in Japan

IDAS NBZ-II-M48S dual-band nebula filter also for high-speed telescopes and lenses

The NBZ filter is a dual line pass filter that can be used with one-shot color cameras (DSLR, mirrorless system cameras, color astro cameras) and monochrome cameras. It is the successor to the NBZ/NBZex filters and supports all telescopes and camera lenses from f/1.9 and weaker.

The NBZ filter passes the red H-alpha line and the blue-green [O III] lines and increases the contrast. You get narrowband images with just one series of exposures.

The special thing about the NBZ-II nebula filter is that it is suitable for very bright optics up to an aperture ratio of 1:1.9, even in obstructed systems. This means you can use the nebula filter on practically all common telescopes and most camera lenses.

The bandwidth of 10 nm for H-alpha and 8 nm for [O III] is slightly larger for the NBZ-II than for comparable 7 nm dual-band filters from other manufacturers. This slightly larger bandwidth has the advantage that the filter can also be used on fast optics with similar contrast without there being a significant loss of transmission. So you don't need to buy a special narrow band filter for fast systems, as the NBZ-II can be used universally. In contrast, some of the competing filters with 7nm or narrower bandwidth reduce transmission by 50% or more when used in a fast optical system (around f/2).
