Askar FRA300 Pro review

Askar chose the "Pro" suffix because the FRA300, with f/5, is the fastest astrograph in the FRA series and was specifically developed for astrophotography. Unlike the larger FRA models, it is not intended for visual use.
The focuser is very short to ensure maximum stability against tilting. Sufficient threads have been provided on the bottom for the adaptation of a motorized focuser (e.g., ZWO EAF Motorized Focus / PegasusAstro FocusCube 2).


As with all FRA models, the FRA300 Pro also features a built-in corrector, so as soon as the sensor is in focus, the image is flattened. The corrected field of view is designed for 44mm to full-frame sensors, with emphasis on the best possible color correction.

Thanks to its compact design and weight of just 3 kg, the FRA300 is also suitable for small mounts and mobile use.

We have already tested the FRA300 Pro with a full-frame camera.
