Product Description
The motto "more is better" can also have negative effects. This is the case with the clamp on a Skywatcher Star Adventurer GTi.
Goal: -> Tight clamp.
Solution: -> Replace the clamping screw.
Tools: -> Allen key, screwdriver
Challenge: 2/5 stars
1/5 stars: Can be done even with two "left hands"
2/5 stars: Can be removed with simple tools
3/5 stars: A steady hand and a cup of tea...
4/5 stars: Chapeau! Read the manual and pray.
5/5 stars: Better call 089/68050200 first!
Procedure:
1. Follow the pictures and loosen the corresponding screws (Images 1 and 2).
2. Then loosen the clamps (Images 3 and 4).
3. Now open the four screws of the drive and lift off the gear (Image 5).
4. Et voilą, here lies the clamp, which is secured from the outside with a long screw (Figure 6).
5. In Figure 6, you can see that brute :-) force has pushed the spring through the thread. The only solution here is to replace the clamping unit.
