Info: Data management at the telescope

A solution must be found to process the data on-site for the solar telescopes (1x H-Alpha with the SolarSpectrum Sundancer2 and 1x Lunt CaK module). Since the telescopes must be transported independently of the mount, as much data as possible should be distributed and processed across the telescopes.

Unfortunately, the data transfer rates of each mini-PC are only sufficient for one astrocam each. Hence the following setup:

H-Alpha telescope: Here, an Intel NUC attached to the Skywatcher AZ-EQ6 processes the image signals and controls both the mount and the focusing motor. The data and power are distributed and controlled via a Pegasus Advanced PowerBox.

CaK telescope: Here, the central unit is a Mele Quieter3 MicroPC, which directly controls the astrocam and focusing motor. The mount would be controlled via the other PC.

Both PCs are connected to the network via a LAN cable and are remotely controlled from a Mac using Microsoft Remote Desktop.

The telescopes are aligned parallel to each other using a double tube clamp printed from a carbon fiber material. Additional printed adapters are mounted on these clamps.
