Why we sometimes take a little longer to answer inquiries:

We receive approximately 50 to 200 calls and 50 to 100 emails every weekday. While we're providing advice over the phone, we can check telescopes, mounts, and accessories on the side, but we can't answer emails because this requires too much concentration. We already have enough experience optimizing our products to accomplish this during a phone consultation.

We need approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours to check a telescope, clean the optics of dust (as best as possible), and adjust them. For some telescopes, we "only" have to check the optics and adjust the focuser, which can be accomplished in about 10 minutes, but it has to be done.

A mount requires approximately 10 minutes to 2 hours to check and adjust the bearings.

For eyepieces and diagonals, we need approximately 5 to 20 minutes. Other accessories are also checked and take a few minutes.

With our way of processing orders, we only have a certain amount of time to answer inquiries via email, WhatsApp, SMS, Threema, or Facebook. Therefore, we always ask that you call us if you need a response or order processing more quickly.

The telescope specialists currently employ six people (some part-time), each of whom takes on tasks beyond consulting, checking, and adjustment. Providing detailed and competent advice requires a great deal of experience. It is very difficult to find employees who can do this, or who can provide advice according to our specifications; therefore, such a position cannot be filled at will.

We are also not an online retailer in the sense of Amazon or a discounter, as we want to sell almost exclusively after detailed advice and not something that sounds good in the advertising but wouldn't really work for the respective stargazer, or is technically inadequate and wouldn't be fun for long.

If we shipped orders without checking, this wouldn't be a problem, and we'd have enough time to process inquiries more quickly. However, it's not our policy to ship telescopes, mounts, and accessories without checking, and we'll continue to do so in the future and avoid "box-pushing" them. We always try to respond to emails within 24 hours. Please excuse the occasional delay.
