TS screw adapter for TS-GPU & MPCC Baader coma corrector on M54x1 Skywatcher Newton

With this screw adapter you can connect the Baader MPCC or the TS GPU coma corrector to 2" focusers from Skywatcher with M54x1 thread without tilting.

The Baader MPCC coma corrector and the TSGPU are widely used among astrophotographers. With this adapter you can optimally connect the coma corrector to your Newton - without fear of tilting or tension, absolutely safely and, above all, with very short distances. The corrector disappears completely into the draw tube. Only the camera-side connection thread protrudes from the adapter. The distance from the camera thread of 55 mm is retained even with the adapter.

Connecting the corrector with the adapter to the Newton:

♦ The coma corrector is screwed into the M48 internal thread of the TS adapter.
♦ The adapter is screwed with the coma corrector into the M54x1 thread of the focuser.
♦ The camera can then be connected using the appropriate adapters as before.

The adapter is suitable for all TS UNC telescopes that are equipped with a 2" Crayford eyepiece focuser UNCN2-G2. The connecting thread of the extension tube is an M54x1 internal thread. When adapting to other focusers, please note the pitch. Skywatcher- For example, extensions have an M54x1 pitch.
 
The advantages of a screwed solution:


♦ With the normal 2" Skywatcher adapter, three screws press onto the 2" sleeve of the coma corrector. The corrector's locking groove can easily cause it to tilt. The result is blurry stars in the corners. A screwed solution prevents this.

♦ The metal screws can easily scratch the housing of the coma corrector and the lenses can even become distorted if too much contact pressure is generated. A screw connection, on the other hand, does not exert any pressure on the corrector.

♦ With a screw connection, 100% fit on the optical axis is always guaranteed.

♦ With a plug-in solution, the unit can sometimes fall out of the 2" sleeve of the pull-out if the screws become loose. This cannot happen with a screw-mounted solution.
