Installation of an aperture ring for the primary mirror

Product Description
A useful conversion for the ambitious astrophotographer. The previously occurring diffraction effects on the mirror mounts are efficiently eliminated by the aperture ring. This is immediately visible in astrophotography. To prevent reflections from the aperture ring itself, these are additionally coated with a black, highly light-absorbing layer. We carry these aperture rings in various designs.

Goal: ->Minimize reflections and diffraction effects.

Solution: ->Install an aperture ring for the primary mirror.

Tools: ->Screwdriver

Challenge: 2/5 stars
1/5 stars: Can be done even with two "left" hands
2/5 stars: Can be solved with simple tools
3/5 stars: Steady hands and a cup of tea...
4/5 stars: Chapeau! Read the manual and pray.
5/5 stars: It's better to call 089 / 680 50 200 first!

Procedure:
1. First, loosen the screws at the end of the tube.
2. This will release the cover. Be careful: the primary mirror is also screwed to it. Don't be alarmed, just proceed with caution and wear clean gloves. I find serving gloves work best. They're soft and comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, they shed a bit of lint, but we'll clean them with compressed air during the final check anyway.
3. Now carefully loosen and remove the primary mirror mounts.
4. Attach the new aperture ring and replace the metal mount.
5. Carefully tighten the screws so that the mirror still has some play and no tension is exerted.
6. Then carefully reinsert the mirror mount into the tube and secure it with the screws.

I'll be happy to describe the adjustment of the primary seal elsewhere.
