Sky-Watcher STARGATE Dobsonians, with their enormous light intensity, offer visual astronomy enthusiasts the ultimate wow experience, delivering outstanding results for both planetary and deep-sky objects. The STARGATE-400P Synscan is the first telescope in the series to feature the sleek and robust, all-metal, collapsible FlexTube telescope tube. This allows for quick retraction of the OTA, greatly simplifying storage and transport. The entire telescope can be set up and used in less than 30 minutes. The mount features motorized altitude and azimuth control and can automatically slew and track the telescope to over 42,900 night sky objects from the extensive computer-based object database of the included Synscan handset. Alternatively, the telescope can be operated wirelessly via your smartphone using the built-in Wi-Fi with the free SynScan app for iOS or Android. Thanks to Freedom-Find™ dual-encoder technology, the telescope can also be manually moved in both axes without losing alignment or position. This offers the user tremendous convenience and flexibility during observation. Simply push the telescope close to the object, and the computer does the rest. With the telescope turned off and the couplings released, the telescope can also be used entirely manually as a push-to-telescope, increasing its versatility.
