Tip for Adjusting Newtonian & Dobsonian Telescopes:

On SkyWatcher Newtonian and Dobsonian telescopes, the focuser can be adjusted for tilt using three pairs of push-pull and pull-screws.

This allows the focuser to be adjusted very precisely so that the OAZ points to the center of the secondary mirror, allowing for more precise laser alignment of the mirrors. With a Newtonian, the geometry must be adjusted as precisely as possible.

To adjust the OAZ, we use a Cheshire alignment eyepiece and adjust the focuser very precisely for each Newtonian.
