Two-axis control with tracking for EQ / GP mounts

With the two-axis control, you can conveniently position your object exactly in the centre of the field of view without having to touch the mount. This works even at high magnification. Three speeds are available to you. This makes the control also well suited for astrophotography.

The motors are attached to the hour axis and the declination axis of the mount. The motor on the hour axis compensates for the apparent movement of the stars from east to west.

When the motor is switched on, the stars, moon and planets remain centred. Observations over longer periods of time are possible without the object running out of the field of view.

The controller fits the following mounts, among others:

♦ Skywatcher EQ4 and EQ5 (but not to the TS EQ4!)
♦ Celestron Advanced Mount ADM
♦ Vixen GP series
♦ Meade LXD 55 / Bresser Mon 2

It does not fit the Bresser EXOS 2.

Both motors are supplied with a manual clutch.

 

Perfect control by stepper motor control

The speed of the tracking is perfectly maintained. The stepper motor is crystal controlled. In addition, you still have the possibility to change the tracking speed to position the object in the field of view (factor 2x, 4x and 8x).

 

Astrophotography

Due to the accurate tracking and the possibility to change the speed via the hand control box, astrophotography is possible with the mount EQ5. Moon and planets can be photographed very well and also the photography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies becomes possible.
