The exciting Skywatcher Maksutov Newton Telescope is exactly what astrophotographers and serious visual observers have been looking for. The Maksutov Newton reflecting telescope design combines the best features of Newtonian reflectors and Maksutov Cassegrain telescopes. This optical design impresses with impressive image quality and offers high-contrast, perfectly flat images, free of colors.

The Maksutov Newton Telescope design offers wide aperture apochromatic performance, with exceptional field correction, in a compact tube at an amazingly affordable price. Stars appear like pinpricks across the entire area. Perfectly optimized for modern DSLR cameras. Five apertures inserted into the tube eliminate annoying internal reflections and improve contrast.

Compared to similar Schmidt Newtons with the same or larger apertures, the Skywatcher Maksutov Newton telescope achieves significantly sharper and higher-contrast images. Photographic, as well as visual.

The mount:

Skywatcher mount For amateur astronomers looking for a high-quality equatorial mount with the convenience of a computer-controlled GoTo system, the HEQ5 Pro SynScan™ is the right choice. The Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro SynScan™ was developed with beginners in astronomy in mind. With the user-friendly push-button hand control, finding and observing objects in the starry sky is as easy as a walk in the park. The hand control makes it possible to align the telescope with the desired object or to simply start a guided tour through the night sky with the press of just one button. The user-friendly menu contains a database of over 42,000 night sky objects. Even an inexperienced beginner can learn the system's diverse functions in just a few nights of observation. The HEQ5 SynScan™ mount also contains many functions for the experienced amateur astronomer.

The positioning accuracy is up to 1 arc minute. Accuracy is improved by calibrating the software for mechanical errors. The stepper motors have a step angle of 1.8° with 64 microsteps. The maximum movement speed is 3.4° per second (800X). The mount includes an auto guiding interface for astrophotography. The guiding speed can be set to 0.25x, 0.50x, 0.75x and 1x. The database for GoTo positioning contains all objects from the Messier, NGC and IC catalogs.
