Askar 65PHQ 65mm f/6.4 5-element APO astrograph

The 65PHQ is a flatfield astrograph that joins the 80PHQ, 107PHQ and 130PHQ range.

Instead of buying additional flatteners, calculating the back focus of the flattener, or making a tedious connection to set the correct distance, astrophotographers can simply equip it with all sorts of photographic accessories, keep the object in focus, and then the entire optical system is perfect for the figure set.

The 65PHQ is smaller than other PHQ astrographs. The 65PHQ has an aperture ratio of 1:6.4 and a focal length of 416mm. Instead of the quadruplet construction of other PHQs, the 65PHQ is a quintuplet with two ED lenses, allowing for excellent control of chromatic and other aberrations. With its self-leveling design, the 65PHQ offers strong advantages in astronomical photography. It supports the full-frame image circle and has a fine spot diagram with only tiny distortions of the peripheral stars.

The 65PHQ comes with an extendable dew cap, a high quality CNC milled and painted tube and decoratively designed parts. The OTA weighs 2 kg, the entire package with pipe clamps etc. weighs 2.8 kg. The 2.5" rigid focuser comes with a 360° rotator with dials and a viewfinder shoe. M68, M54 and M48 camera adapters are also included, and the M48 adapter has an M48 female thread for installing 2 "-Filter.

It is also a good choice for your visual observations. Perfect focus can also be achieved with different star diagonals and different eyepieces, and with a very high magnification eyepiece you can even observe planets. The 65PHQ has a multifunctional handle, a 300 mm long dovetail bar and two robust pipe clamps. Its small size and light weight make it perfect for observation and photography.

Askar 0.75x reducer for the 65PHQ
The 0.75x full-frame reducer for the Askar astrograph 65PHQ is designed as a four-lens system. The 0.75x focal length reduction gives the 65PHQ a focal length of 312 mm and thus an aperture ratio of f/4.8.

With this reducer, you can effectively shorten the exposure time and significantly increase the field of view, providing more convenience and possibilities for deep sky astrophotography. The working distance is a common size of 55mm and is easy to achieve with many standard adapters. The reducer has M54 and M48 connection options on the camera side and an M58x0.75 thread on the telescope side. A filter thread (M48×0.75, 2”) is integrated into the included M54-M48 adapter.
